TikTok user @brighattas was one of the first to try the natural curling lashes trick. In a video with 3.9 million views so far, Bri rubs some petroleum jelly on her lashes and gently squeezes her eyelash curler for 10 seconds. When she pulls the curler, her straight lashes become curled and defined. They look more prominent, voluminous and darker as if they had a professional lash lift. “If you don’t use Vaseline to curl your lashes, you’re doing yourself a disservice,” Bri tells her followers. “I have zero mascara right now.”
Since Bri’s video went viral, countless TikTokers have naturally joined the bandwagon. Some have tried different ways of using products in the TikTok cheat to achieve the same results. While @beauty.with.cait says there is a huge difference in their lashes and claims they survived an eight-hour workday; TikToker @aayoub__’s before and after video reached 3.2 million views.
User @boxycharm tried the trick by using vaseline as a primer before mascara. First, he rubbed the vaseline on his eyelashes using his fingertip. Then she curled them with an eyelash curler before applying a thin layer of mascara.
According to those who have tried it, this trick makes lashes look darker, curled and fuller, and the effect lasts for hours.
