What side effects can occur after filling applications? The answers to these and many questions are provided by Medical Aesthetics Specialist Dr. We heard it from Cenk Gül.
⢠Fillings are one of the most preferred applications when it comes to medical aesthetics. What do you think is the reason for this?
Filling applications are the most common procedure we apply together with botox in non-surgical aesthetic applications. At the latest point of biotechnology, hyaluronic acid-containing fillers are applications that are fully compatible with the body, easy to apply, and can quickly return to daily life after the procedure.
⢠What are the most popular filling applications as everyone is getting ready for summer these days?
As summer approaches, my patients apply to me to refresh their appearance and feel better with their holiday preparations. In addition to botox and mesotherapy applications that will make the skin lively, I also apply filling applications to eliminate volume losses and make facial lines more prominent. Undoubtedly, lip augmentation is the leading one among them…
⢠Is it possible to go out in the sun after filling operations? What operations can be performed before summer invitations or holidays?
We apply sunscreen after the procedure in filling and all other medical aesthetic applications. There is no harm in going out in the sun as long as our patient also uses sunscreen. During the summer, the sun dries our skin like a leaf, so I definitely recommend my patients applications that maximize their moisture holding capacity with youth vaccines containing intense hyaluronic acid.
⢠How long before the important days should the filling applications be done? What are the points to consider?
Patients sometimes come to me and say that they have a wedding or an important organization 1 week later; she wants to get lip fillers or to make her cheeks a little more pronounced. They forget about edema or bruises that may occur only after the application. As the amount of filler applied in the same session increases, the probability of their development increases. For this reason, I recommend making applications 1 month before important days for a more natural-seated look.
⢠One of the most researched topics of recent days is nasal filling… How is it done? Especially its permanence is the most curious issueā¦
One of my favorite procedures is to apply nose fillers. When I take the post-procedure photo, the expression of liking mixed with the feeling of surprise on the patient’s face makes me happy. In particular, we can treat patients who do not want to be operated, or those who postpone the operation, and even the points that you want to partially correct after the operation with fillers. We apply the nasal filling with a needle or cannula under local anesthesia in as little as 45 minutes. Although its permanence varies according to the patient, it varies around 1-1.5 years.
⢠What are the known misconceptions about lip augmentation?
The most common mistake āLip fillers hurt.āOur lips, which are one of the most sensitive application points, provide very comfortable application if local anesthesia is done well.
āWhen lip augmentation is done, the lips look like a fish mouth.āWith the appropriate technique and compatible fillings, such an image will never occur.
āOnly women can get lip fillers.āIn men, we can shape voluminous lips without disturbing the masculinity.
⢠What is under-eye light filling? In which cases is it an application applied?
The under eye is the most sensitive and delicate point of our face. When treating volume losses under the eyes, we call the fillers specially developed for this area as under-eye light filling. The reason why it is called light filling is because when the dark and sunken image due to loss of volume under the eyes is treated, it is replaced by a flatter and brighter appearance. Therefore, we prefer it for our patients with volume loss.
⢠Which methods can be preferred for genetic dark circles and under-eye bags? Is there absolute permanence?
Genetic bruises under the eyes are among the complaints of many of our patients. Genetic bruises tend to get worse with the effect of environmental factors (smoking, diet, sleep duration, chronic diseases) as age progresses. We question these environmental factors in our patients and apply our under-eye bruise mesotherapy protocols in patients we deem appropriate. In this way, although we cannot prevent genetic bruises, we can alleviate the picture. If the surgery has not reached the limit for under-eye bags, we can reduce this appearance with enzymatic mesotherapy. We recommend yearly maintenance doses to maintain the persistence of these treatments.
⢠One of the most popular areas in aesthetic applications of the last period is the chin. Can you give information about chin filling?
The clarity and emphasis of the lower face is important for both men and women. While a prominent chin tip and jaw line is an expression of power and self-confidence in men; it also evokes beauty and youthful appearance in women. While making our applications, while designing a wider-based chin in men; In our female patients, we aim for a more triangular chin tip that provides the continuation of the jaw line.
⢠What is nasolabial filling, which is one of the applications that we come across frequently in recent days? To whom can it be applied?
Nasolabial filling is a treatment that we apply to the lines that form on both sides of our mouth and deepen over time. Of course, it is useful to evaluate the face as a whole without applying a filler here and to eliminate other deficiencies that cause the formation of nasolabial lines. Otherwise, repetitive nasolabial applications may cause a bad appearance.
⢠Could you briefly talk about crow’s feet and forehead filling applications?
The lines on our crow’s feet and forehead are usually the lines formed over time by the activity of a muscle that surrounds my eye in a circle. With Botox, it is possible to prevent the stabilization and deepening of these lines. In these areas, we can apply for filler treatments in deeper lines that cannot be removed with botox.
⢠What is a crystal fill? Can you tell us about the difference between crystal filling and other fillings?
The crystal filler got its name because of the white calcium hydroxyapatite globules it contains. The difference from the hyaluronic acid fillers we frequently use is that it has a content that we aim to increase the rate of collagen synthesis in the skin thanks to calcium, as well as giving volume.
⢠Can fillings be melted? In which cases is the filling melting application done?
The fillers used today are composed of molecules containing hyaluronic acid that are completely compatible with the body. When undesirable situations or unsatisfactory results are encountered, we can dissolve the fillings with enzymatic solutions called hyaluronidase, which breaks down these molecules.
⢠What is Overfilled Syndrome? Does it affect a person’s health status?
Overfilled syndrome is a general term we give to swollen cheeks that do not fit the anatomy, lips that do not fit the proportion of the face, and facial features that we can often call rough. It is usually caused by incorrect and excessive filling applications or the treatment of the face only with filling, even though it has other needs. In addition to not having an aesthetic appearance, fillings applied in excessive amounts can cause health problems in the future.
⢠Which side effects may occur after filling applications? What causes persistent sensitivity after filling?
After the filling applications, the patient can return to his daily life immediately. Mild edema, pain, redness and sometimes bruising in the application area are among the side effects we expect. This situation usually resolves in 3-5 days, depending on the area and amount applied. Apart from these situations, it would be good for the patient to inform the practitioner in case of prolonged sensitivity, increased pain, and color changes in the application area.
