Kaia Gerber is the face of Alexander McQueen’s new Slash bag campaign. This collaboration represents Gerber’s first campaign with the luxury British brand, as well as Alexander McQueen’s first time selecting a celebrity for an accessory campaign.

The body of the Slash bag is divided into vertical padded leather sections, inspired by the slits and cuts in McQueen’s silhouettes. It features Swarovski crystals, McQueen signature knuckle and skull motif details. The price of the bag, which also has a silver chain strap, is 2,250 pounds.

The campaign was shot in two settings by British fashion photographer and film director Glen Luchford, who regularly shoots for The Face, Self Service Magazine, Arena and many more.

The still life image shows Gerber looking curiously at a prosthetic-like person. The campaign also includes a short film set in a dystopian future. Gerber is walking through a desolate, white, futuristic field, dressed in McQueen and carrying the Slash bag on his shoulder. She encounters her model’s stunt double, caresses her face, and begins to cry.

Luchford is a movie buff. The film draws its inspiration from the orange-toned lighting of Pedro Almodóvar’s “The Skin I Live In” with clinical prosthetics and Denis Villeneuve’s “Blade Runner 2049” with its sci-fi vibe.

In 2001, Luchford directed “Here to Where,” a film about a man stranded at an airport that was cited as the inspiration for Steven Speilberg’s “Terminal.”
