Jenna Ortega, recently announced as the new face of the German sportswear giant Adidas, proves that she is an expert in every field. As the new global ambassador, Ortega is poised to become the face of the sportswear giant’s brand new, as-yet-unseen label, “adidas Sportswear.” This is the first new label the company has launched in the last 50 years.
Ortega shared a statement after joining the adidas family; “My love for Adidas goes back many years. It has always had such a presence in sport, music and culture and remains innovative in many ways. For me growing up it always had to be adidas sneakers and Ts shoes. To date, most of my wardrobe consists of the iconic three lines. I am honored to be a part of this legendary family of changemakers and to be the face of its brand new brand. I can’t wait to show you guys.”
It looks like the new series will focus on bringing a refreshed creative lens to the brand. While the collection is based on heritage pieces that no doubt refer to adidas’ three-line roots, it will also attract the attention of the next generation. “At Adidas, we are constantly looking for ways to push the boundaries in both sport and culture,” said Brian Gevy, Member of the Adidas Executive Board. So exciting that we can announce that Jenna Ortega is joining us to launch our first new company in 50 years. The first adidas Sportswear collection is scheduled to arrive on February 9.
