The singer reported via her Instagram profile that she is the new face of luxury British brand Burberry’s Christmas campaign. Shakira plays the lead role in the brand’s “The Night Before” campaign, which is described as “a celebration of the excitement and anticipation of the preparations for the festival”.
According to the brand’s statement, the campaign aims to go beyond the ordinary and convey the message of “the ultimate setting for self-expression and new approaches to holiday traditions.”
By taking part in Burberry’s campaign, Shakira brings the strong female essence to light. A new professional project that confirms the Colombian singer’s complete focus on her work life in her flawless career.
In the first photo shared for the campaign, Shakira shows off her gorgeous figure in a see-through dress embellished with beads and rhinestones. In the video, the 45-year-old singer is also seen wearing the designer’s iconic trench coat and designs featuring the brand’s print.
A detail of the video of the campaign attracted great attention; The ring with the word “Love” on the singer’s pinky finger. A wink, meaning ‘love for oneself’, which perfectly describes the new phase Shakira is going through.
The campaign features design codes from former creative director Riccardo Tisci’s tenure before he resigned in September. Daniel Lee, former Bottega Veneta creative director, has been announced as Tisci’s successor and will unveil his vision for the brand in 2023.
