We faced criticism and boycotts from celebrities like Scarlett Johansson and Tom Cruise after the 2022 awards ceremony was canceled on television due to controversy surrounding the lack of diversity among members of the Hollywood Foreign Press Association (HFPA), the Globes parent organization. The HFPA has since reworked its code of professional and ethical conduct to increase diversity standards with a new international voting class, as well as for-profit transparency with the private sector added following the transfer of ownership of the organization to Eldridge Industries.

“We recognize the HFPA’s commitment to continued change and look forward to welcoming the Golden Globes back on NBC for its landmark 80th anniversary,” Francis Berwick, head of entertainment at NBC Universal, told Deadline in September.

The event will take place on Tuesday, January 10 this year at 20:00.

WHO IS PRESENTING THE CEREMONY AND TAKING THE STAGE?

According to the HFPA, this year’s presenters include current Golden Globe nominees Ana de Armas and Jamie Lee Curtis, 2022 Golden Globe winners Michaela JaĆ© Rodriguez, filmmaker Quentin Tarantino, comedians Tracy Morgan and Nicole Byer, and actors Billy Porter, Natasha Lyonne, Niecy Nash-Betts, Ana Gasteyer and Colman Domingo. Pianist, composer and producer Chloe Flower will also perform in person at the televised ceremony, and her performance on Tuesday night is rumored to inspire her forthcoming song, “Golden Hour.”

WHO IS PROUD TO WIN?

Nominees for ‘Best Performance in a Motion Picture’ include Austin Butler for her lead role in ‘Elvis’, Ana de Armas as Marilyn Monroe in ‘Blonde’ and Jamie Lee Curtis for her role as IRS inspector Deirdre Beaubeirdre in ‘Everything Everywhere All at Once’.
