After making its mark in Shanghai this spring, the stunning Gucci Cosmos exhibition heads to London just in time for fashion month. The exhibition showcases some of the house’s most iconic designs from over 102 years of history. Gucci Cosmos will be at 180 Studios from October 11 to December 31, 2023.
The London exhibition will be designed by Es Devlin, who designed the original exhibition in Shanghai. The British artist created a space at 180 Studios with elements dedicated to the London homage that inspired Guccio Gucci to establish his artisan suitcase workshop in Florence in 1921. Italian curator Maria Luisa Frisa will also return, showcasing new and never-before-seen drawings of items from the Gucci archive.
Gucci Cosmos takes the viewer back in time and forward through the decades by showing how the house’s designs and visionary stance reflect and define the times when the collections were released. The exhibition brings the craft and history of the house into one space, from its inception in Florence to the designs, ideas and pieces that have passed through time and made Gucci the name it is today. In 2024, Gucci Cosmos will advance to Paris and Kyoto with meaningful narratives that showcase Gucci’s relationship, history and connection with each city.
The Gucci Cosmos London exhibition will be open to the public from October 11 to December 31, 2023.
